Despite China’s exclusion from the FIFA World Cup 2018, the fans are still eager to enjoy the competition right from Russia. It is now officially confirmed that more than 100,000 Chinese are expected to visit Russia for the World Cup. The nation might have failed to qualify for the finals, but their fans are desperate to witness the World Cup.
More than 40,000 tickets have been purchased by the Chinese
FIFA’s official website confirmed that more than 40,000 Chinese have purchased the tickets of the tournament which 8,000 more than English fans. This makes China eight on the list of international ticket buyers.
Including the ticket holders, over 100,000 Chinese tourists are expected to visit Russia for the beautiful game, according to China’s largest online travel agent Ctrip. This causes the increase of flight bookings between Russia and China to 400% than normal as compared to the same period of the last year.
